Volume: I , Issue: II Publication Year: 2014 , Page(s): 45-48

Abstract: Wireless sensor network has a number of autonomousnodes and important task of WSN, collect data from an node andsend to the base station .Node in a WSN are power constrained due tolimited battery power. To increase the network life time and reducedbattery consumption clustering techniques is used. LEACH,PEGASIS, HEED, SEP, DEEC, EDEEC, TDEEC are theHierarchical clustering algorithms for Wireless sensor network.LEACH, PEGASIS, HEED are algorithms for homogeneousnetworks. And DEEC, DDEEC, EDEEC, TDEEC are the algorithmsheterogeneous networks. In this paper, we present the comparativereview of algorithms designed for heterogeneous networks.

Key words: Wireless sensor network, Clustering algorithms,LEACH.

Goda Tejpal H.,Prof. Atul N. Desai

Volume: I , Issue: II Publication Year: 2014 , Page(s): 49-50

Abstract: Referring from different article it can be concluded thatmost probably they are using basic element in two-dimension is,quadrilateral element to generate mesh. But there were no use ofnon-conforming element. So study of non-conforming element withsix-nodes is carried out. Here an attempt is made by analyzing abeam by 2D non conforming Six nodded rectangular element andcompared with the conforming four nodded rectangular element.

Keywords: Finite element method, Non-Conforming Element, Sixnodded rectangular element.

A Survey on Optimal Placement of Capacitorsin Distribution System

Christie Merolina , Mr. Kiran Patel

Volume: I , Issue: II Publication Year: 2014 , Page(s): 51-54

Abstract: This paper presents various methods taken into account forcapacitor placement. .To improve the overall efficiency of powersystem, the performance of distribution system must be improved.Optimal capacitor placement benefits in voltage profile improvement, loss reduction and power factor improvement. This paper gives abrief introduction about some methods for optimal location ofcapacitors. The two most important and promising artificialintelligence methods for optimization are genetic algorithm andparticle swarm optimization. Genetic algorithm is a search heuristicmethod that is a technique inspired by natural evolution. Particleswarm optimization is metaheuristic method that is inspired bymovement of organisms. Genetic algorithms belong to class ofevolutionary algorithms. In this paper these two methods for optimalplacement of capacitor are discussed.

Keywords: Capacitors, optimal placement, particle swarmoptimization, genetic algorithm.

Robust Security Using Self-healing and Mutual-HealingThrough Elliptic Curve in Sensor Network

Jaykumar Shantilal Patel, Dr. Vijaykumar M. Chavda

Volume: I , Issue: II Publication Year: 2014 , Page(s): 55-57

Abstract: To attain robust security in the sensor network, it isimportant to encrypt message with strongly secure key. The key thatis used to encrypt-decrypt the message should be known to sender aswell as receiver. The key should be securely exchange between twocommunicating entities. These can possible through introducing thekey management mechanism. To introduce secure key distribution inresource constraint environment is too much difficult as well asinteresting. General Key distribution schemes for conventionalnetworks could not directly shift to sensor network environments. Aself-healing key distribution scheme ascertains a session keydynamically over an unreliable wireless network. The main objectiveof self-healing key distribution scheme is that users are capable torecover lost session keys on their own, without requesting additionaltransmission from the group manager that saves the additionalcommunication cost over the network and reduces the networktraffic. This paper shows the security requirements using the keymanagement. Here we present the asymmetric key managementusing Elliptic Curve Cryptography to ensure robust security in sensornetwork.

A Survey Paper on Various Hyperlink Based Algorithms

Yash Joshi,Hiteishi Diwanji

Volume: I , Issue: II Publication Year: 2014 , Page(s): 58-61

Abstract: In this era, there is lot of information contained by web,and people want to gain more and more information from the worldwide web, and searches on any topic based on their interest. So, it isrequired that user can get the relevant information effectively andefficiently. So, it is required that the web provides the relevantinformation to user based on the topic that user have searched. Toretrieve the relevant information from world wide web, search engineplays an important role. Taking the user query as an input searchengine gives results in such a manner that the pages with high rankwhich are relevant to query are at the top of the result. Differentalgorithms used by search engines to give the results based on userquery. HITS (Hyperlink-Induced Topic Search), Page Rank,Weighted Page Rank and Ratio Rank are link based algorithms whichgives results based on user query. Powerful Algorithm gives therelevant result based on the user query, and displays more relevantinformation at the top of the searched results. In this paper DifferentHyperlink based Algorithms HITS (Hyperlink-Induced TopicSearch), Page Rank, Weighted Page Rank and Ratio Rank areanalyzed here from which Ratio Rank uses Features like inlink, outlink and user visit counts together so that it is more efficientalgorithm.

Abstract: Upon completion of a successful Distribution Automation (DA) Pilot Project centered in National Grid’s upstateNewYork service territory, it was determined that thereliability improvements delivered by the pilot demonstrationjustifiedamuchmorecomprehensiveeffort tofurther evaluate additional Smart Grid technologies. The visionwastoconductexperimentswithafull suite of Smart Gridtechnologiesincluding: AMI;HomeAreaNetworkand energymanagementsystems; Automatic Fault Isolation & SystemRestoration;advanced feeder monitoring; distribution  transformer  monitoring;  single  pole  tripping and Pulse Closing technology on distribution line reclosers; advanced capacitor control with  independent  pole operation;faulted circuit indicators with 2-way communicationcapability;anddistributionfault locating capability. Thisvisioncametobeknown asNational Grid’s SmartGridPilotproposal.Manychallengesexistwithsuch a comprehensive approach from public and  personnel safety, toensuringinteroperabilitybetween devices and systemsofdifferentmanufacture.   Inordertodetermine whichtechnologieswouldprovidethemost benefit to NationalGrid’s customer base, a means was needed to prequalify  the  various  typesofproductsavailablebefore largescaledeploymentswereinitiated. Looking at the large numberofSmartGriddevicesuppliers, architectures and products available, we realized that the optimum solution wouldbetobuildafacilitywhereinawiderangeof Smart Gridtechnologiescould be installed and systematically put throughtheirpaces;i.e.actuallytestedinas nearareal- worldatmosphereaspractical. Thus was born the National Grid“Smart Technology Centre” or STC. Soon thereafter, NationalGrid’sUtility of the Future engineering team designed, engineered,  and  constructed  a  truly  innovative testfixture that enabled system level testing on complex distributionnetworksto ensure process safety during field deployment. Oneofonlyafew knownorganizationsinthe U.S., National Grid has in-house capabilitytotrulytest and evaluate an end-to-end Smart distribution system architecture  where  systems  such  as   automated   fault isolationand systemrestorationcanbeevaluated.
