Abstract: This paper focuses on the use of Radar system in military applications. The development of the radar technology took place during the World War II for detecting and tracking the approaching aircraft, missiles guidance and fire control for missile and artillery. This led to the development of advanced military radars being used nowadays. Presently, military radars have highly specialized design to be highly mobile and easily transportable by air as well as ground. Information gathered from reports, journals, and research shows that radar system has been employed on the ground, in air, on the sea and in space. The results obtained confirmed that a large number of applications of radar systems are in airport traffic control, navigation, meteorology, mapping and military purposes.

Abstract: A robot is a group of electromechanical or biomechanical devices, capable to perform an autonomous or preprogrammed work. Robots are commonly used to execute tasks in location with poor illumination, or hazardous conditions for humans and one of the most common application of robots is in the production and transfer lines. Historically the robot programming is based on a set of predefined sequential actions. In this case, devices and sensors are connected to the robot controller and the programming of the jobs or activities is held directly by its internal software. This type of programming is usually fixed and has a little or no flexibility concerning to handling, requiring the equipment reprogramming for new trajectories. In this context there are high cost as result of the labor required and production loss due to setup time for robot training. On the other hand, several studies have been showing artificial intelligence techniques like neural nets, genetic algorithms, automated planning as enhancement proposals for practical systems. Specifically, automated planners emerged in 1971 with the STRIPS or “Stanford Research Institute Problem Solver”, the first automatic solver problems. Automated planning model makes use of search algorithms defined in the model to find a path that starts from the set of inputs and achieve the desired state. In 2008, itSIMPLE was developed as a knowledge engineering tool used for modeling planning domains to several automatic planners. The proposal of this paper is the integration of automated planners with robots control systems through itSIMPLE modeling for trajectory planning. Such integration is accomplished using a device made especially for this project, which is responsible for translating the information served from sensors into states, which will be used by automatic planners. The generated plan is converted into a list of instructions (jobs) that is sent to the robot. Finally, a comparison will be made with the traditional method of programming and robot's training.

Abstract: Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is multi carrier modulation scheme, main disadvantage of OFDM system is its sensitivity against inter carrier interference (ICI). ICI is introduced in the OFDM system due to offset between the transmitted and received carrier frequencies. ICI cause the loss of orthogonaility and degrade the performance of the system. This paper presents the ICI analysis in standard OFDM system and techniques to reduce the effect of inter carrier interference (ICI). The techniques used to reduce the effect of ICI are self cancellation technique maximum likelihood estimation technique and extended kalman filter technique. Theoretical bit error rate expression of the standard OFDM system has been discussed and a comparison has been made of different ICI reducing techniques.

Abstract: This paper investigates the load-frequency control (LFC) based on neural network for improving power system dynamic performance. In this paper an Artificial Neural Network (ANN)basedcontroller is presented for the Load Frequency Control (LFC) of a five area interconnected power system. The controller is adaptive and is based on a nonlinear auto regressive moving average (NARMA-L2) algorithm. The working of the conventional controller and ANN based NARMA L2 controllers is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK package.. The Simulink link results of both the controllers are compared.

Abstract: A smart grid is a modernized electrical grid that uses analog or digital information and communications technology to gather and act on information, such as information about the behaviors of suppliers and consumers, in an automated fashion to improve the efficiency, reliability, economics, and sustainability of the production and distribution of electricity. Smart grids are still under evolution, and different utilities will need different solutions as per their underlying infrastructure, legacy requirements, and business case. Most ingredients of a smart grid exist today, but have not been fully packaged into integrated solutions. The price points also need improvement, especially for residential deployments and developing country roll-outs. Despite all the challenges, there are large benefits to smart grid technologies, especially as the solutions mature and volumes grow, which will be spurred by the adoption of standards.Smart grids will be an important enabler to make the power system
more environmentally sustainable, and represent an opportunity for developing countries to leapfrog in the growth of their power sector to more manageable, reliable, and scalable designs. In this paper, the infrastructure and application of smart grid is reviewed to explore the benefits of smart devices. The analysis of review also presents the level of implementation of smart grid and annoyance to the roadmap of smart grid.

Abstract: The ubiquitous and pay-as-you-go services in cloud haveled to tremendous advances in its research. To meet the demand ofthe user, the cloud provider has to carefully forecast the workload.Workload is an abstract of instances. The applications running on theweb servers often give rise to unpredicted workload and needsmonitoring. An advantage for cloud service provider would be theability to forecast the operations. This paper addresses the issue offorecasting the workload through Simple Linear RegressionTechnique (SLR) and the results validated through a fitness test. Results of SLR are compared with Compounded Annual GrowthRate (CAGR).

Abstract: The paper consists of shape optimization analysis of mechanical screw jack with the lifting capacity of 4 KN, total lifting height of 235mm and span is 75mm, and it is subjected to the loading under static conditions, when the screw jack is at rest on the floor and lifting the weight. Mechanical screw jack is very widely used in high volume applications such as car jack, floor jack or garage jack which lifts vehicles so that maintenance can be performed. Mechanical screw jack must be strong enough to lift the weight of carrying load and also somewhat flexible in order to sustain the shock and tension caused by lifting the load. So that one of the most important steps in redesign of mechanical screw jack is a stress analysis and optimization.
