Abstract: Investment casting (Lost wax casting & precision casting) is used to make a various component of machine & jewelry with good accuracy compare to other casting. It is also used to make difficult component which cannot be possible by conventional mold casting. In investment casting shrinkage defect is major defect. So our aim is to reduce shrinkage defect in investment casting. There are many ways to reduce shrinkage defect. Some of ways are, by improving design of gating system, by change elevation of component, by maintaining pouring time, by maintain the temperature of molten metal and shell. This paper give idea of reduction of shrinkage defect by modified design of gating system through analytical designing.
